A Sports Physiotherapist with over 19 years experience, for 5 years Natalie was the Director of Beaumaris Physiotherapy, treating mostly sporting injuries and musculoskeletal disorders.
After developing a keen interest in paediatrics, Natalie set up Kidz Clinic to specialise in the management of children and teenagers with Hypermobility Disorders, Juvenile Arthritis, Baby Head Shape/Infant Torticollis , Sporting Injuries, Rheumatological conditions and Chronic Regional Pain Syndromes.
In 2011 , Natalie was the Winner of the Medical Innovation Episode of ABC TV New Inventors show for her design of a therapeutic bracing garment, the Spiral Thigh Brace, which aims to correct pigeon toed/knock kneed gaits ( femoral anteversion) and uncoordinated running styles (see www.strapsbracing.com).

About Kidz Clinic
Kidz Clinic is located in Shenton Park within the Wyllie Arthritis Centre.
The Shenton Park clinic is open Wednesday to Saturday each week. Natalie practices at Ocean Reef on Tuesdays.
At the time of initial assessment the aim is to address the priority arears of concern and direct management towards theses areas. Treatments are in the rooms utilising pilates reformer, therapy balls, age-appropriate skill building equipment and hydrotherapy.
There is particular emphasis on home exercise programs and teaching the children techniques (stretches, exercises, proprioception) to reduce the likelihood of recurrent problems.
It is important for children to feel in control of their condition/disorder and feel confident in self management as well. The aim being that after the initial series of treatments, that the child is able to manage their condition (with parent help) at home and then only require future physiotherapy when new problems or new areas of pain arise. This approach helps provide the child with the best chance of improved quality of life (pain-free, participating in group activities and keeping up with peers).

Encouragement is placed on teaching the children how to be their own “best therapist” and for them to feel empowered by learning how to control their own movement and coordinate their movement. Emphasis is placed on FUN and we like all children to leave our office with a SMILE on their face
